since he ragequit Mumble for like 4 days and blocked me on facebook because I "can't generalize people like that" when I said that Mexicans are predominantly catholic and that's why they by-and-large have more children than other races (Asians were used to contrast, in particular)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion_in_Mexico#Catholicism

Literally almost the entire population of Mexico is or has been Catholic in recent past. Plus, Mexican tradition and culture has been highly shaped from said Catholic history - so even if they aren't Catholic, the cultural implications are mostly the same (which is relevant given the context of the conversation).

and furthermore

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion_and_...man_Catholicism

The Catholic Church forbids any form of birth control that isn't abstinence

let's break this down into mathz and sciencez, for the kidz at home

Mexicans are mostly Catholic
Catholics mostly don't use birth control
When you don't use birth control, you're more likely to procreate
Therefor, Mexican Catholics are more likely to have children (and more of them) than many other races/religions.

If you can't handle making intelligent generalizations, then you are a fool.
But that's why political parties exist amirite? So you don't actually have to think for yourself.

If Metz were more intelligent he would realize that just because there is a correlative connection, does not necessarily mean their is a causal connection.

http://www.demographic-research.org/volumes/vol18/5/18-5.pdf

The more accurate correlation you should be looking at is the socioeconomic status of the individuals in question, of which there is strong evidence to suggest exists a connection with fertility rates. "Catholicism" may have nothing to do, or very little to do, with fertility rates. It too is likely a correlative element to socioeconomic status.

Ergo,
You made a dumb statement not based on fact,
That is scientifically weak,
and you could use some more humility.

Lack of education is my bet.
Which is also keeping the religions alive.

EDIT: Lack of education probably caused by lack of funds... so yeah MW is right
