When Worlds Collide! Sunday March 16th 3pm EDT
I managed to get most of my team into Mumble, and my pre-game was speech was "I want you communicate, not in game with text, but with your voices on mumble. Communicate, Communicate, Communicate." I designated four scouts, rest ints for an IC start versus RYU's Bios.
Seven scouts launched, rest ints, and we secured the left choke fairly quickly while my home TP planted. Next we scouted out bottom right while RYU's team secured right choke. They pushed their TP and ref to bottom right, the only expansion rock we had on our side of the map. I was partialling EXP at this point, so I pushed my second tp to that sector, but it died. I had four miners out happily mining away our left sector, and even squeaked two loads of HE out of mid.
I purchased a SUP and placed it between our garrison and left choke. RYU had an expansion placed at mid-top-right.
I bought bombers and cleaned up an op (or tp can't remember) push to bottom left to secure our mining sectors. I managed to get enough cash from mining to up the sup immediately, buy boost 2, dis 2, and galvs. While I was doing this, RYU secured both top left and mid-high-left.
Once we had galvs I provided the objectives in order, and my team proceeded to clean up the left side of the map. We also cleaned out lower right while I expanded with TPs to continue mining. Around this time I started picking up SUP Tech and GAs, like heavy boost, gat 2 and 3, Small shield 3, rip 2, sensor 2. Around this time some amazing pilots cleaned up all of Ryu's miners, essentially halting his economy.
Once we galved lower right I partialled the rest of the expansion and pushed it to the rock. We galved right choke, and eventually secured it with a tp. Once I had map control the fun really began.
Bios heavy scouts with nan 2 were ramming Weedman around in a cloaking HTT. If not for some amazing work by Alpha, Cashto, and many other people who actually probed, this would have ended totally different. This is where the game stalled as I fleshed out our sup tech, and purchased expansion GAs and generally kept our miners functioning with rip 2.
I picked up a tac for ship speed, bought probe 3 to keep a watch out for HTTs, and generally kept the pressure on by galving any bases.
RYU started buying and purching ADV SUP cons, including one where we had a constant prox on the aleph at the right choke, just to stop them from rushing our miners. A double prox demolished the shield and Hull of a full speed BIOs sup con, and a six second rip time ensured that we put enough dumb 3s into it to stop it. He also secured mid with an op and used it as a launching pad to our garrison.
This continued for quite some time. I got SBs and figbees, then heavy scouts. The game tempo shifted as RYU's team got a bit demoralized, and they had to begin reacting to constant figbee and SBs that went in ones and twos. I upped the garrison and purchased heavy scouts. We galved middle after a failed htt run.
RYU pushed another SUP, and it too died. I secured top left, top right, and mined the whole map with rip 2 IC miners. RYU's heavy bombers and HTT's continued trying to win the game, and blue stopped them with excellent probing, great reaction times and constant communication.
In general, RYU's blue team whored my yellow team, but they did not get out without looking like they had been in a fight.
The big tipping point came with a final SUP push to right choke, and a well timed HTT to our bottom left Upped Tactical. They captured the TAC, but with some swift reaction time by Dome and others they popped it immediately with bombers. At the same time I called for our waiting SBs to go on the expansion. The SUP planted.
Around the same time a bios bomber was rolling on our expansion, and we had just got heavy bombers up. With quick thinking cashto (I think) reacted by purchasing an aleph res and dropping it into the aleph, the bomber stopped, turned our tp, saving us critical time needed to execute a final blow.
In a flurry of action the SBs brought the expansion to critical level, only one sb remained, and the hull was at 3/4. Not enough for one sb. I purchased a Figbee and ripped to the right choke, racing with cruise booster to their exp. Ints followed me, but not before I got off a 28KB ab3. This last missile brought the hull down to a critical level, where our last SB cashto swooped in for the win, popping the expansion. Yellow was down to heavy scouts and regular figs, and they eventually bowed to a rainbow teched IC. The rest of the game was a cleanup, we fighter/bombed the right sup with three figs, while a heavy bomber went on their garrison.
It was a great game played all around, the teamwork my from POV was awesome. The communication was amazing. Props to Culmination for consistently showing that SUP can win against heavy ints once it is teched and backed with multiple path gas.
Looking forward to Wednesday's game against METZ.

Some pretty horrible miner management on both sides for lots of that game, quite lucky that IC miners can rip and the rip ga really helped as well.
Got to say though pretty disappointed with the busybee boot just because he wasn't on mumble especially in a community event. Mumble is great for team communication but it shouldn't be minimum requirement to play Allegiance.

Yes that was a shame. Interesting (but not surprising =p) to have a sysx boot a squadmate as well. We started typing a bit more after that. Too bad busybee didn't try to join back up. ggwp. (Would post stats but the program appears to be broken on my machine and I am lazy atm. Someone else do it.)
