I'd like to enable my Allegiance account for "Virtual Machine access" (for my virtual Windows XP). From my virtual XP, as soon as I login, ACSS tells me me I needed to first launch from a physical machine, and said to goto the wiki for more information:

"The Allegiance Community Security System (ACSS) provides support for Virtual Machines. Before you can run Allegiance under a virtual machine however, you will first need to log into ACSS with your account on a physical machine first. This will then tie your account to the hardware you are running on. If you cannot launch ACSS on physical hardware, you can contact the help desk* to request that your account be enabled for virtual machine access. Once your account is enabled, you may then play Allegiance under a virtual machine."

I'm not able to launch ACSS on physical hardware, and I couldn't find the help desk* the wiki was referring to!

It's been awhile since I've had my own built-at-home PC, now I have a quad-core i7 Macbook Pro that handles virtual windows XP real smooth! I first played Allegiance years and years ago, and I'm very happy that there's still an active community! The game is way ahead of its time...It's like 1st person starcraft haha. I'd be very appreciative if somebody could help me out with how to enable my account for virtual machine access!

Thanks so much :)

Welcome, you found the right place. ;)

I've enabled Virtual Machine support for you, it should work now.

The history of open-source Allegiance is paved with the bodies of dead code branches, forum flame wars, and personal vendettas. But a community remains because people still love the game.
