I know it's debatable whether or not the who's online for asgs indicator led to more or less people playing.
The surge in people playing when the forums went down suggests that it might have contributed to less people playing.
But I'm inclined to think it was mostly just because the forums went down, and that in the long run showing who is online did encourage more people to log in.
Can we bring back some sort of notifier/monitor? I liked the AllAlert.exe program as well whoever made that....

Well, plans-wise...
1-I will merge AllAlert into ACSS.. that shouldn't take too long, but first we need to focus on getting R7 out the door.
2-AFK indicator needs the server to communicate back to ACSS who is AFK. It's not planned for R7 but for R8.
Which in-turn requires you guys use the beta button and play on the beta server (which is actually Slayer) and let us know what is $#@!ed up. I understand if euros are reluctant to do this due to pings, but this *has* to happen during US time at least. Otherwise we can't release in a timely fashion, and without releases there won't be any further development we can't pile up changes over changes untested, otherwise it's back to the R6 situation again.
I don't know much about the forum indicator, pkk needs to chime in on that.

I'm trying not to set up a specific time since those things don't work well. Maybe we should do beta Wednesdays again though. It should also be a lot easier now that there is no lobby separation and you can see everyone else is on the beta server. It's just a matter of getting a game started there.
There is something I need to iron out with BT, then I'll make a dedicated post and an ACSS announcement.

AllAlert functionality is not part of R7. There are no changes necessary to Allegiance server client code, so I can release it independently when it's ready.
