Its a shame Ron Paul is so blacked out by the media, the man is intelligent, patriotic and very well spoken

Ron Paul may be smart, and may have some popular roots in counter-culture but not a broad enough political base (or platform). Ron Paul is like George McGovern in that respect, when George ran against Nixon in '72. He was a counter culture candidate. He wanted an immediate pullout to Vietnam (sound familiar?) as well as the end to the war on drugs and prison reform etc.
McGovern lost badly, despite beating out the main bourgeoisie candidates for the Democratic nomination. This lesson holds true today. There is no point in covering Ron Paul, and people should stop whining about it. He doesnt have anything to offer us.

Counter culture? The man wants to pull out kids out of the war man! Can't you understand that? He was drafted, with a wife and 2 daughters and accepted the draft, he served. He knows what its like. Broad political base? He has been serving for how many years? Just because he doesn't paint his face red or blue does that automatically erase him from the political platform?germloucks wrote:QUOTE (germloucks @ Aug 10 2012, 01:52 PM) Ron Paul may be smart, and may have some popular roots in counter-culture but not a broad enough political base (or platform). Do you really think democrats and republicans are different at this very moment?
Wow, I might be a former political science major but I wouldn't know.
