I don't see the harm in most of the reply, although clearly amateur made and they should be more "we'll help but come on, help yourself too".

The difference in situation are Finland was poor and starving after a pretty hard time vs very wasteful use of resources.

I'm all for helping them, but throwing money at something isn't the only solution. I think I get what you're going for here MrC with the Finnish population around here I can only assume you're attempting to get back at the times assumed person has popped at the USA, and all for you!

Currently the Finns have gone loopy. They kinda voted in their extremest group which are Xenophobes who are trying to block the help but the normal government (and population people like our local Paladin) are all for helping.

You're right though, atm Finland are having too many political issues internally and it's making them look like asses.

Edit: I think

Nothing more then just a friendly little oppurtunistic back alley mugging of grumping old grumpy pants as you guessed Doorjam. No knife play or twist of the stilleto is on the agenda ;)

No no my good englishman, Slow glass, that slows the speed of light down as it travels through it, essentially creating a warp that will allow you to look into the past.

Entertaining story and very interesting concept that should in future be possible.

Ah right, I only skimmed that same material. I didn't realise they used glass to slow down the light. I just knew they were slowing down light etc

Hmm, interesting couple of videos. No idea who made them and can't be arsed to dig.

The only bit of bad advice in the reply is the 1). I definitely wouldn't advice anybody to sell national gold supplies in a time when all fiat currencies are crumbling.

Other than that, meh. :P

PS. But we had a strong populist redneck party (think Teabaggers) take 19% of the vote, and it has scared most of the established parties into trying some populism as well. AS a result there have been attempts to get guarantees on the loan guarantees we are giving fellow EURO using countries... this has been done clumsily, and has caused further instability in the Eurozone.... not clever. That deserves a much more serious complaint than bragging about one shipment of clothes during the Winter War. Not that the gesture wasn't appreciated, but it's a pretty weird thing to bring up.
