Someone posted this picture in jest in a forum I frequent.

I got curious and did some poking around and found this thread, which I read several pages of.
http://www.landoverbaptist.net/showthread.php?t=64512
So, it really looks like some people believe the pic. I know some of you here are religious. Do any of you really buy that "science"? Am I looking at the furthest religious right fringe?

Just to confirm, you do realise that the Landover Baptist Church is a joke? I don't mean a metaphorical joke, I mean it is, literally, a joke. Not a real... thing.

Unless you do realise that, and merely intended this as a joke thread, in which case I kind of ruined it I guess. :P

The university may be a joke but I suspect the idea to calculate the water "problem" comes from a simple minded creationist.
I avoid American sources but I'm familiar with Israeli creationists on my fav Hebrew science website and this is exactly the sort of argument that people with just a trace of original thought and minimal (very very minimal) science education come up with.

The actual calculation and poster were probably made by a joker.

If anyone doubts that people bring up such arguments, google Bill O'reilly + Moon.
After that, look up Ann Coulter + radiation.

Secular theories about precipitation and where rain comes from are as suspect as a whore in a church.
