I know there are a few EE's here so an interesting PDF file. I am not an EE, so I can not comment on the contents.

Hardly just for EE's, especially when it's talking about stopping WLAN's and Cordless phones, dunno why they aren't saying shut down radio transmitters and terrestrial TV or have schools use 2 inch lead lined walls.

They think there's some sort of link between frequency range and environmental effects. WLAN and phones use different bands than radio and TV.

Also, I've seen lots of stuff along the lines of "cell phone transmissions are dangerous" but I've also yet to see anyone explain the causation of how this happens. Its non-ionizing radiation, so it doesn't cause the effects commonly associated with ionizing radiation from materials like uranium.

People forget that noise radiation in these frequencies existed before radio technology was invented and came from the sun and other stars.

If anyone here knows the mechanism through which cell phone band EM radiation has a biological effect, I'd really like to know.

I would like to see what the actual mechanics are behind the harm being caused.

Didn't they show that extended use of a cellphone next to a lab rat gave it a brain tumor or something?

If it's not thermal or ionizing, what is it?

clearly its fear mongering

'The report made its recommendation to reduce mobile and wireless use in schools, despite admitting that there is a lack of clear scientific and clinical proof'

I'm sure glad people don't believe proof is necessary for things like this, it really boosts my faith in humanity...

Ionizing radiation kicks electrons out of molecules in your body and strange biochemical reactions start -> radiation sickness on short term, cancer on long term.
If the speed is too slow then it only rams the molecules and heats them up.

I got screenshots scientific data to proof that wireless were used in my university for playing counterstrike instead of listening to lectures.

According to my own rules this is a troll:

Sorry.
I have a johnson photo in my profile since 2010.

I actually heard a rather interesting piece about how it DOES heat up the head, especially in children who have less developed skulls than adults. However, it just seems to make the brain more active because it is warmed up.

Have no doubt, using your cell phone radiates thermally and will heat your head up.

Heard about this a while back on the radio, seems like a good time to bring it up!

Cuz brains are FUN yo!

Sure I could worry about my kids rolling off to college and turning into sophomore sluts, or running into djrbk in his white van with the soopa dark tints.

But, I actually get more worried about them volunteering for experiments like this where they get their brains e-magged to "see what happens".

Date Rape Magnets. Not just for carpal tunnel healing anymore.

I still have a CRT with a permanent purple stain on it from a horse shoe magnet test. How about a nice purple tinge on your Osama Bin Oblongota? How do you think MrC got into the tin foil chapeau market? Stay safe people, keep your brains off that freaky organized electron juice.

So will wearing a hat, or being in the sun on a hot day, or washing your head in a hot shower.
