This poll will probably give the statisticians fits

These were the major suggestions I saw in the big fat stupid Bios thread.

If some of the options (roll back, remove payday with another nerf in it's place, increase tech costs) receive a majority vote then we might have some small discussion on the issue.

Cut the cost of miners in half.

I'd love to have 4 miners out in 3 minutes and have half the map mined out by 15.

You increase the quality of xc by reducing the quality of cc? :ninja:

Anyways. All change bios threads ended up in fubar, so i expect the same here.

I am just pointing out that that is a retarded change to make and will lead to far more problems than it solves, and I'm not sure why it's even been put forward for serious consideration, particularly given the recent @#(!fests resulting from bad ideas like that.

Bios has always been a problematic faction because it encourages people to essentially sit around and do nothing for 30-40 minutes and then go win the game with tech that is extremely difficult to see coming (in part because of Bios' enormous scan range, making them incredibly adept at clearing probes, on top of their low signature) and stop. It also gives Bios a massive advantage because it's difficult to mount an offensive when anything you do is eyed. If they aren't sitting around turtling, it's the complete other end of the spectrum: An entire team of people throwing themselves into an all-out offensive with no consequences because, no matter what happens, people will be able to get home in 20 seconds. Very, very, very problematic.

I don't like Bios as a faction because as long as it has the 10min research time it becomes a bore to play (against).

Back in the day BIOS wasn't a problem. It wasn't cheese, it most definitely wasn't weak, it was just different. The only problem was HC was too heavy to be of any use on anything but their HTTs and scouts. Instead of just fixing that and calling it a day, they got a bunch of perks and now they have to basically give up when miners are, as it usually happens, raped. Removing the extreme HC mass penalty, payday nerf and rolling back the other boosts is a good place to start. If skycap is eventually adjusted to a more sane level there won't be any thing left to complain about.

Do you even know what problems you're trying to fix, Das, or are you just throwing up scattershot polls in the hopes that somebody else will solve the problem for you?

The range of options you've proposed indicates that either you're taking the "Community" part of Community Core a little too far, or you have no real clear idea how Bios works and are just reposting every @#(!ty suggestion that has ever made its appearance in a CC thread.

This is just about every proposal in the Bios thread. Just one example of how ridiculous things get with community suggestions :)

Obviously peoploe want the payday nerf rolled back so we'll be doing that.

What are people's suggestions for rolling back Bios? To what period?

I know Spunky has his idea of what Bios should be, but I'd like to see some other opinions before we just shove Bios back to 1.25 or whatever

I don't know what problems were trying to fix either; therefore I assume we're simply trying to make them more fun. With that in mind make their cons build faster. Maybe 30s? Lol that sounds completely ridiculous and fun.
