Next time please start a new thread and please use the template from READ ME FIRST. This makes our work on helpline much easier. ;)

Please make sure you start ASGS as administrator.

On Vista/Win7, ASGS will automatically start as administrator due to the UAC manifest, so I doubt this is the problem.
Didn't old ASGS versions (<210?) have a problem auto-updating on 64-bit machines? In that case, your only option is to reinstall (or manually download the new ASGSUpdate.exe from somewhere).

How many people do disable UAC, because it's "annoying"... :ninja:

How many people run 3rd party applications on their Vista/7? ;)

To run something as an Administrator you need to be logged in on an account with admin privileges. If you are then right-click the blue Allegiance shortcut on your desktop (or in the Start menu) and select 'Run as Administrator' option.

Now, if you want this done automatically whenever you start ASGS, right click on the same icon as before, but select 'Properties' option. In the Properties window, go to the 'Shortcut' tab and press the 'Advanced...' button. Check the 'Run as administrator' checkbox, press OK on the popup and the main Properties window. Viola - you are set :)

Those people who disable the 'annoying' UAC will be using admin accounts. (because using non-admin accounts without UAC is even more annoying than UAC is!)
So if UAC is disabled, they can simply double-click Allegiance and it'll run with admin rights.

The latest ASGSUpdate.exe is always available at http://downloads.alleg.net/ASGS/ASGS.zip

Sheffy, try downloading that zip and replacing the ASGSUpdate.exe you have in the off-chance that this is a 64-bit problem like the.ynik suggests.
