i want a softer punishment than #boot for pilots deserving such a tap on the shoulder.
the ability to insta-pod any of your pilots to give them a timeout to think about what they did wrong
#eject
It would cause many players to leave the game.
I would be much more enraged if someone force ejected me than if someone booted me.
It would be overused and easily abused.
You equate a "tap on the shoulder" with an ejection?
And you honestly think they would think about what they did while riding in a pod back to base?
Dumb idea.

well initially i had thought if you can shake their screen (as if they were boosting) and disable their ship controls for a few seconds.. that might get their attention. but even easier to implement would be just ejecting them.
i dont understand the abuse argument. give example? if your comm keeps force ejecting you, just leave the team and join the other side... just as if you were booted and have the option to join the other team w/ a hider. you need not count this as an eject in your stats either.
the whole point of this is to save #boot for the more egregious mistakes... spamming chat, making the game unplayable to everyone else, etc. #eject has the advantage of giving stronger notice to that player while keeping him on your team.
i dont know about you but if i get booted, the first thing i think is "what did i do wrong?" and try to improve from that. i dont see how #eject will be any different than that since it gives you a break from the "action" and think and/or read the chat...

Comms can already do "tap on the shoulder" - send 'em a nice big bold-text PM and hammer the appropriate VC a couple of times. #ejecting someone without warning would be a huge dick move, and if they're flat-out ignoring you then force-podding them will probably just make them mad and lead to a ragequit or chat-spamming tantrum anyway.
