-INSTRUCTIONS FOR BETA WEDNESDAY:
If you do not already have it installed, you will need to install the Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable. You should also make sure you have the latest DirectX 9 Start with an up to date Allegiance install (make sure you can play on the regular servers).
In ASGS select "Allegiance -> Beta Mode".
Still in ASGS, select "Help -> Update / Repair Critical Files".
Click "Login". The updater will run again, downloading the beta client.
After the updater has finished, click "Login" again.
Enjoy the beta! Find or create a new game and test away!
When you are done, there are a couple steps to get back on the regular servers.
Turn off beta mode "Allegiance -> Beta Mode".
Revert to the regular client "Help -> Update / Repair Critical Files"
Play as normal!

AGAIN This week there are a lot of repeat empty games on the CDN server. Please Ignore them and only sort by BETA games, you will not be able to connect to them as the server cloud has gone down. Only games listed as BETA will be playable. I'm attempting to work with the CDN server operator to get this resolved.

I'm still working on the newgamescreen.mdl issue.
Several features that got put in caused this problem and I'm trying to find a way for people to test them without breaking regular games.

I've be leaving the 981 build in place for another week or two until I clean up the protected file problem.
If you can log in and test, please do so.
If you can't get logged in, I'll get you set up to do so later. If you're tired of waiting for me, the dev team has lots of instructions for setting up your install.

Thank you all for testing.

I'm sorry about the lack of a full release this week, I was busy with U.S. family stuff due to the holiday.

The Escapist (Justin Emerson) @ Dec 21 2010, 02:33 PM:
The history of open-source Allegiance is paved with the bodies of dead code branches, forum flame wars, and personal vendettas. But a community remains because people still love the game.

These bugs haven't been fixed yet because don't have any developers interested in fixing them up. --Tigereye
