Do they still take a second to load when you first view a sector? I seem to remember when I had them in that when in F3 view I would need to wait a second or 2 after clicking a sector for the first time for the higher resolution stuff to load, is that still the case or was that a thing only I had issues with?

I think the "use texture pack" feature resolves this problem.

what he said. Applies to all high-res content, depending on your system. My old laptop used to take 5-10s.
