Select drone (type in drone name), press ctrl+g and type in destination like "gar" (for Garrison).
It fails because some people chosen a callsign which begins with the same string.
If you're back in base you realize, that these person hammered down your miner to 5% hull and you can just watch how the miner dies...
Why don't give bases a token like drones (.xxx)?

Let's not make this more complicated than it currently is please. Just remember you have a player named Gartkal now and you should be okay
I'm sorry I don't remember any of it. For you the day spideycw graced your squad with utter destruction was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Sunday

This R7 ticket proposes to give unique names to each base, similar to how drones have unique names. If nothing else, the use of a comma instead of a period to distinguish between bases and cons resolves HSharp's concern.

I think the problem, spidey, is when you're trying to issue orders in a hurry (and who isn't when done in chat) habits dominate. You're sunk if you have to remember whether or not Gart is playing, whether or not some smartass named "Garrison" is also playing, which teams they are playing for, etc. Isn't this pretty much the reason why we prepended periods to drone names?
I'm not convinced that coming up with a similar scheme for bases is "overcomplicating" things. After all, you just have to sweep through and change the base names in ICE, yes? It's a problem that can be solved in 20 minutes (10 if you copy-paste). Just come up with a simple scheme to help ID bases and apply it. Prepending a comma seems like an easy move, accept that it looks like ass in game. Really, who wants to dock at a ,Outpost?
Re: Unique base names
I'm not sure if giving bases unique names is very useful (re tab completion) unless the uniqueness is at the front of the base name.
It may be more useful to make tab completion smarter. Something like
for Goto Outpost in Delgon
ctrl-g (goto) o-u-t<tab> (outpost) i<tab> (in) D-e-l<tab> (Delgon)

Well I used to have to hit goto "gar" now I just have to add one extra letter. Really is less of a habit change than throwing in commas and what not.
However banning Gart is also a good idea
