^cashto@ACE (TF advexp, starbase) vs aarmstrong@PK (Dreg advsup, drydock)
1.0 / 1.15 Hihigher
15v16, 2 hours 41 minutes
Their op goes midhigh, we were going to midhigh too but switched to midlow after seeing the direction they were going. They put tele low. They rip an op low and backdoor our miners midlow. Three basic miners trapped at our op.Our exp goes high (next to home), they build home sup. They get enh miners. We mine out the op and kill all of their miners over the next 20-30 mins or so.Galvs up. They galv our op.Heavy ints up. We heavy int bomb their tele high (between our exp and their home). We put exp high next to their home.We bomb their garrison and their tele.Despite their sup being 3k from the aleph, multiple bbr runs on their sup fail.We alternate between a zero and one miner economy for the rest of the game.We get adv cons and walk a sup con high through our exps, then down to midhigh (between their op and home). We attempt to bomb their sup from two sectors, and fail. They figbee from their op and kill our sup. From time to time they dare to mine again but it usually doesn't last long.We get heavy bbrs and adv scouts. They rebuild garr center. Our bomb runs continue to fail on their sup.We switch up our bombing, kill some teles adjacent to our home, hoping to strand some of their pods but it doesn't work. Teles grow back. They get spec mines. They get SY, drydock, longtom BS.They roll the map.
Good game, PKSF.

The distance actually worked against you. We were able to repeatedly launch in mass, turn towards the bomber, and then initiate a dumbfire spike against the bomber. After the first few attempts we kept a heavy fighter present on the aleph to slow down any further attempts.cashto wrote:QUOTE (cashto @ Aug 1 2010, 11:31 PM) Despite their sup being 3k from the aleph, multiple bbr runs on their sup fail.
Got to give credit to IB for that one.cashto wrote:QUOTE (cashto @ Aug 1 2010, 11:31 PM) We alternate between a zero and one miner economy for the rest of the game.
The people in our TS channel were really up in arms over that incident. We had a heavy presence in there to kill that sup, but 4 or 5 different people dropped within seconds taking their gats and dumbs with them. That was a sad moment for us.cashto wrote:QUOTE (cashto @ Aug 1 2010, 11:31 PM) We get adv cons and walk a sup con high through our exps, then down to midhigh (between their op and home).
That was a fun run. I was about 1.8k from the expansion when my cockpit view fills up with nothing but green dots flying towards me. Also someone got a ram on me right when I launched. I never did see if my missile hit or not.cashto wrote:QUOTE (cashto @ Aug 1 2010, 11:31 PM) They figbee from their op and kill our sup.
Yeah miner AI is REALLY stupid. Aarm had just told it to stay in base and then it pops back out again. It didn't matter at that point since we had a few HE mines up. I think Aarm bought 2 more HE mines and another miner about 5 minutes later. I think that miner survived until the end of the game.cashto wrote:QUOTE (cashto @ Aug 1 2010, 11:31 PM) From time to time they dare to mine again but it usually doesn't last long.
At that point we had secured the adjacent sectors with TPs and also a backup sup. Killing those TPs didn't really help you unfortunately.cashto wrote:QUOTE (cashto @ Aug 1 2010, 11:31 PM) We switch up our bombing, kill some teles adjacent to our home, hoping to strand some of their pods but it doesn't work. I wasn't there for the first part of the game, but y'all really did put up a good fight from what I saw. I was worrying a bit when I joined since all we had were a sup, a few TPs, an op, and no offensive tech!cashto wrote:QUOTE (cashto @ Aug 1 2010, 11:31 PM) They roll the map.

We won? Oh wait, I figured that would happen.
I saw the garr go up, saw that it was 1:50, that I had somewhere to be at 2, and left.

Don't find fault, find a remedy; anybody can complain.
