I know that showing all the long term bans clogs up the banlist, but would it be possible to have a "really long" banlist, so we can check up and see whose been naughty?

something like a separate page?

I was thinking the same thing, why is there a size limit?

There must be more bans than most people know about.

It is a boring list. It goes something like this:

Jerk#1 365 days
11yearold 3365 days
'oneofmanyportugesehiders' 365 days
Leetname#2 365 days
Annoyingtwit#4 365 days
Truelies/prohibited 365 days (until I decide to upgrade it)

and on and on...

as opposed to the current banlist, which is just two weeks' worth of expired "afk with GC" 0-minute bans

+1

I used to look at the banlist quite a bit, but ever since the change, it's been pretty useless. Yes, I really do care to see who got a six-month ban yesterday. No, I don't care to know who went afk with gc last week.

The stated reason of "it's boring and you wouldn't care" is so utterly at odds with reality. People are CONSTANTLY bringing up how useless the banlist is now and how much better it used to be. And it's not like it's an either/or choice. Who says we can't have both?

Frankly I don't think "it's boring" is the real reason at all, and I imagine even BV has a hard time keeping a straight face every time he throws it out there. I bet it's more to do with the immense secrecy behind the Allegiance Justice System and how we don't want people reverse-engineering how long they'll get banned for whatever offense. But of course no one is going to say that ...

Probably not.

People with long bans getting their name in lights would probably just encourage more bull$hit behavior ala the forum incidents from Pook's time with the "Spammer" tag.

PUG's are bad enough, the last thing that's needed is more idiocy.
