We're looking at a possible Australian server. Check in here if you are willing to help with some marketing (posting flyers and such).

A good Oceania area (is that right?) server would have a huge potential player base. Do we have anybody in Japan or Korea? Or China even?

Wasn't this tried before? Had problems with not great ping for those outside Oz and then also weird server shennanigans and really not a large number of people playing?

Not that I want to dissuade a new server, just saying I don't know if we can get a huge player base from it.

It was tried. The lack of players and the lack of qstat support failed. We will have qstat (at some point, hopefully sooner rather than later as the code is almost done) and we hope to round up some players with some marketing efforts.

Is someone working on qstat?

Why is it not mentioned on the forum?

I assume Sharp is talking about pings in the 200 - 300ms which is what us Australian / NZ and SE Asian pilots are pretty used to the other way.
All other points are valid. Still, would like to see this get up.

Im here to help...but apart from going to OGN ArmAII forums and my own wte-anga.com clan, there is probably not alot of marketing I can do.

vort, could you post flyers around? I wouldn't want you to do anything illegal, but if there are local cyber cafes or places where flyers are welcome and the "right kind" of person would see if, that would rock.

It's been a work in progress for a long time. We couldn't get the SDK, so I asked (on the forum) for someone to take it on. I think the response (from Imago) was on the forum, but I haven't looked to check. He basically has the code done now. Hopefully we can look at maybe doing something with it soon (next week maybe?) on beta.

I know all about it but as far as I know there's no one implementing the code. I wasn't aware Imago was working on anything Allegiance at the moment.

For this wondering, this is the relevant thread: Server Query capability

Yuppers. I talked to him today and it's functional in his test environment.
