Just out of curiosity, i wanted to know general opinion about game balancing on allegiance. Are tech paths properly powered? Is there something broken? Do you want to gain dev team's favour and have voted the best option? Just let me know! :P

DISCLAIMER: this poll IS NOT SUPPOSED to mean anything, so don't come bitching to me with stupid senseless stuff about a conspiracy to overcome dev team or some other @#(! about it. It's just that i'm curious

When you say Dev team - do you mean Core Developers? Or actual Coders?

As for balancing. I'm on record as disliking the new SY implementation, and frankly I preferred it when they were almost never used.

The point about balance though is we now have a pretty active CC team which is a million times better than when it was going stagnant. If you think it is horribly unbalanced - go and make your case, and make it well thought out in CC......

It's not perfect (but with balance as complicated as it is in Allegiance it's never going to be) but I think it's pretty good. Sure there are things I'd change given the choice but that doesn't mean I'm right. Indeed many of the things I perceive as problems are hangovers from DN or MS 1.25. I think that to get real balance you'd have to start again from scratch and go through many many iterations.

I think that with 2 decent coms picking the map and settings and two even teams you can have a good game of Alleg with neither team winning in the lobby, which is the aim of the game after all.

There are alot of things broken, but if you're expecting cc09's release to fix any of that I laugh at you. Omicron's going to take alot of attention from other things.

Situation is pretty good. It will never be perfect, but that's no reason to stop polishing our pearl of a game.

SY is probably the biggest challenge at the moment.

Any faction can beat any other with superior gameplay. Some factions are weaker (and harder to play) than others, but that is the price of diversity.
Overall it's pretty balanced.

I'd like to see more weird strategies being tried before saying a path is too powerful.
