Strange request:
Can we make the max res limit 2560x1900 or whatever?
I was playing alleg on my friend's desktop and wanted to see what alleg would be like under native res on his 30" display.
Kinda disgusting that he was getting 500fps steadily at 1900x1200.
Resolution
He's saying that he couldn't increase the resolution beyond 1900 x 1200 to match the native res of the monitor he was using, and that he would like to because apparently the computer attached to said monitor is well capable of utilizing the extra screen space.
Evan, were you changing the resolution in game when you noticed this or using the registry key? Because you should still be able to change your registry settings and manually type in whatever res you want. There's an article on the wiki explaining what settings to change: http://www.freeallegiance.org/FAW/index.ph...reen_monitor%3F

he wants a higher max resolution
he thinks 500fps is discustingly awesome... he was just pointing out that there are video cards and screens that could run alleg at higher resolutions than it allows.
Evan: you know that you can set custom resolutions in the registry? maybe you could make it run higher with that... unless you meant it just refuses to ever go higher... i dont know enough to be sure
anyway, if you didnt know, run regedit, then go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->Software->Microsoft->Microsoft Games->Allegience and it will be around there somewhere.
assuming custom resolutions works, i think this is non-issue, not many people have a big enough screen to warrent offering that res. (hell, even wide-screens arent covered, and most of the people i know has one of them now...)

I wonder how hard it would be to add a few more options in game, and a screen ratio select switch.

I did a long time ago. Nothing ever comes of it. This seems like a quick little fix however.FreeBeer wrote:QUOTE (FreeBeer @ Jan 12 2010, 02:42 PM) pfft. Pixel envy. Go find something important to complain about.![]()
Alleg is quite pretty with high-res textures in 1900x1200. I would love to see it at Native on a 30" display.
I'll mess with the registry setting actually, now that you linked me to it.
