Edit by Cort: Split from thread Remaining R5 issues, speak up.... on 2009-11-16.

Is there any way to make capital ships deploy cm from somewhere other than the middle of their ship? We would love it for cc

i have no idea what it has to do with, however you can hardly call ejecting a cm entirely inside a ship a feature. It was something brought up and nobody mentioned whether it was a model problem (such as gunmounts) or an allegiance problem where it doesnt allow you to move it.

I see a future where all new cap models have an opening in the center to allow the CM out ;)

AFAIk counter is ejected from the center in a random non straight ahead direction.

Also this is the wrong thread for it guys.

Your question is 'is there a way to do it?', for which the answer is almost always going to be 'Yes.' The how and if it'll happen is another entirely.

We eagerly await your patch, Brood. :P

Really, I think this should be in codebugs / suggestions...

Anyway, It should be a case of just multiplying the ship's radius [scalar] and the direction of launch [vector] (I thought it was always up relitive to the model anyway) and adding it to the ship's current position (location of it's middle) to give the new launch point...
Though there may be some problems with keeping the code elegant - it might be an easy quick dity fix, but harder and longer to do neatly.

can't we give the projectile a faster speed and longer life?
I decided to relive the days gone by in my new blog.
