Is working hard on fixing some of the docking doors on a few bases. Keep him in your prayers as he goes crazy fixing both Dreg/Rix Expansions and who knows what else! Look for these in CC_07

I'm sorry I don't remember any of it. For you the day spideycw graced your squad with utter destruction was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Sunday

My apologies.
Lol, you posted the first draft cvh and the messed up mdl. I'm pretty sure the corrected mdl is complete, but I see no reason to post an image since you all know what it looks like, aside from the lights.
For the record, the image on the right is the current collision model for the Rix expansion.
Also, he meant Rix Exp/Dreg Tac

People like pictures!
And you are working hard on this so people deserve to know who to thank for not having to bounce of doors anymore

eheheh guess i made something for nothing too then

i finished it today... too bad we didn't talk about this earlier tho
would have saved me some wasted time, ^^ And a kudos to compellor who's making the effort too. Well done mate, and let's both swear against the incompetent staff who made that rix exp cvh. (i had a few laughs with the $#@!ed up mdl, alleg is very quirky about texture hierarchy)
also i have reworked the GT garr hitbox and realigned the doors so that it's playable... if anyone cares ^^, but no door problem on GT is going to be completely fixed until gt doors are made straight as compared to the currently tilted ones... thus meaning the bump isn't gone completely: the bouncing has been considerably reduced and it only happens around the pylon's corners if you fly too close, say with half the view against a wall... entrance from upside and downside has been mad more reliable, but, as i said, th tilting still makes it troublesome.
Let me say i am very gald to know there's someone else working on these problems, also it'd be nice to have a full list of non-working or troublesome docking bays, so we could, like, split the work?

Rofl, and I've already done a .cvh from the gt gar.

Well, there's this thread, and this one, there might be other past threads on this topic. I knew about the GT gar but hadn't thought anyone was doing the Rix exp.
If your CVHs are finished rain I'd like to take a look at them, might just use your Rix Exp instead of finishing my attempt.
I wasn't real sure how to balance number of faces, number of meshes, and server/client performance. Does anyone have any opinions on that?
Also, when you guys turn the mesh into a cvh do you use Milkshape or the original artwork tools? I haven't played with Milkshape's cvh exporter at all, so I don't know what the quality of output is like. I guess Rain is using Milkshape.

well, i work from blender then import the meshes into milk, i hate milk. the fact is i don't have any modeller that exports joints into something milk can import, so i must work inside milk to get things done. As for the cvh i made, all i really do to optimize was trying to stay as close to possible to primitives, and keeping as snug as possible to the model. It may look kinda rough, but i really added in detail only where the ship's percentage of collision is more likely to happen. That may have made the chv rougher than it should be but i think it can be as rough as needed as long as the fit is tight enough. the real problem is the tilted doors, if you want to be precise, and the fact that multi-pieced cvhs have the pieces scaled individually by the core scaler, which in turn means you have to just keep testing the cvh you made til it "feels" good enough ^^ (main problem with the GT bases i am fixing).
here's the cvh, do what you want with it, it's only tested on my personal server, so i won't claim it to be perfect since it's mainly untested.

^^ again, let me thank yo in stead of all those who will benefit from all of this. I think everyone putting in the effort to make things better should have at least that. go guys!
