I dunno, I think this game will survive another ten years, as long as there remain volunteers to update the code to keep it compatible with newer and newer systems. I doubt even another ten years will bring a game that does quite what Allegiance does.

On the other hand, as tech continues to improve, it will doubtlessly bring many new original and exciting games, so it's hard to imagine Allegiance still being quite as popular as it is today in the face of competition (more an old favourite to play once in a while to remember old times among a small group of old-time fans), unless it goes through a really major overhaul to update graphics and make gameplay even more complimacated and varied than it already is, in which case in ten years it will be exactly as popular as it is today.
I wonder if virtual reality technology will finally come into the mainstream over the next ten years, with the result that by that time you'll be able to experience flying ints firsthand.
