ASGS isn't collecting or posting that data anymore?

I have actually coded a new and improved version of faction stats. You can check the preview here. I'm preparing for another push on the AS front, and this will be included as part of that.

Not so random necro bump.

:)

Baker mentioned he's not working on AS, so who is?

We really need to get into staging the change from 30 > 40 ranks. Probably at the same time phase in the floating data stream for player stats, which iirc was supposed to be something to the effect of counting the last thousand games a player played at full value and the rest at half.

It's not that I'm not working on it. It the fact that it takes a full year from the moment I complete something to even getting close to having it go live on ASGS.

I dunno where this game-counting idea came from.

P.S. Whoever suggested it has no idea of the massive processing overhead of recalculating every game's player's last 1000 games on a 'moving window' basis. It's a technique I use for the upcoming squad ratings, but that's only because SGs occur at a rate of 4/week and are always 1 vs 1. Doing something similar for players would involve recalculating the entire AS games database as far back as the least active player's account stretches. Overall: Not a good look.

If this is gibberish to you, feel free to ask questions.

Edit: Just to put this in perspective: When AS was first implemented, TE elected to process games at a rate of 1/sec so as not to overload other vital parts of ASGS despite the fact that the server was capable of processing 40,000 games in 5 mins. What's being asked here, as far as I can tell, is something very similar to what we did when AS first went live.

Edit2: Not to menton the fact that every game processed affects every subsequent game, pretty much, under such an idea. Wouldn't it be weird to see your rating change even when you're totally inactive?

Edit3: We can acheive the same thing by increasing ONE variable in AS and recalculating ONCE across every game played. MS call it the 'dynamics' variable, and is represented by Greek letter gamma on the AS wiki. Dynamics is essentially "how quickly should I forget about the past?"

See, I knew if I let a genius talk to himself he'd eventually figure out the easy way. :)
