Just interested in the amount who would be interested in an Asian-Pacific Server.

I can think of at least 20+ current players who would benefit (especially across Australia, NZ) and many newbies who join and leave, maybe partly because of the pings. I know in some forums I've posted the pings were an issue.
If we could pool our resources together maybe we could organise something. There would be ongoing costs I suspect unless we petitioned an ISP.
Surely there's a huge asian player base out there. I remember some Singapore players a while back.

Im from New Zealand, and play usually offpeak hours for allegiance, usually on planet!
Ive been watching my ping over the past few weeks, and noticed it hung around 220-370.
While most of the players i was around, we're below 100 =/
A server closer to home, would help that! thus improving mine, and any other asian/pacific person's game experience

Oh yeah. Then I could be just like everyone else by bitching and moaning whenever I'm forced to play with "unplayable lag" on Planet and/or GPZ.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.
Japan, Korea, China. There's a huge potential player base in that part of the world in addition to the convicts aussies and the kiwis.
A server combined with some advertising in the area could do wonders. I'd certainly come over and try to get used to my 300+ ping

<bp|> Maybe when I grow up I can be a troll like PsycH
<bp|> or an obsessive compulsive paladin of law like Adept

Unfortunately as much as I would like this game to be suddenly dominated by Asians with ungodly micro and/or aim, I think we'd have a bigger problem educating them about Allegiance in the form of CDT, ACS and the like. Do they even use keyboards with latin characters in Asia? And commanding with such a massive influx of non-English speaking players would be...interesting.
Obviously they would mostly play on the Pacific server and I'm sure there will be a few dozen English speaking players at the very least who'd stick around.
If you could pool your resources and petition Internode or somesuch, that would be pretty cool, especially if you could get them to advertise Allegiance at the same time. Internode Games Network is quite heavily populated (forums and IRC).
