most of the original models (source, not the converted ones) have some animation.

original devs obviously thought about it but didn't put it in for some reason (hopefully performance related). (we can hope they wrote the code to run them but turned it off, though this will probably involve a whole load of changes to art format, this could well be lots of work for a little cosmetic gain)

That would be beyond cool, especially if the missiles would launch from the correct points.

in the art source, the missile pods of the bomber go in and out...

I would love to see giant capital ships with moving parts. Sections of Belter ships could rotate for centripetal force, because they're too cheap for artificial gravity. :P

Also, Rixian ships are supposed to be biological, living things. If it was possible to make parts of them move to suggest life (like a bomber swinging its tail back and forth as if swimming in space :P ) that would be awesome. ^_^

Oh right, I forgot about that. :P Well fine, animate some other part of it. >_> But wouldn't it be awesome if they looked a bit alive? ^_^

I hope someday bringing the animations in will be possible. :(
