I currently understand that in the current Community Core, Dis3 does not have an AOE. However, the description offered at the loadout screen continues to state this. Am I correct (and it needs to be fixed)? Or am I mistaken (shut up nubcake)?

People considered dis3 with AoE to be "uber cheese" or the "retard gun" as it allowed people with lesser amounts of skill to kill ints with a slightly larger amount of chance. Whiny voobs for the most part. Noir removed the AoE effect, but didn't change the description.

But this still leaves Sup without a way to clear minefields. Exp has the EMP cannon, why doesn't sup have an AoE? :P

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

Somewhat on topic:

It would be nice if dis wasn't so useless. I'd like to be able to make use of the galvonic blaster as a gun, but since the projectile speed is so different from gat, it just doesn't work. Dis is same speed, but galv & 2*dis does so little damage to non-caps that it's just not worth it.

Poor Man's AoE:
Just send figs to blast through the mine field, and have a scout ready with pod pickups. After a few figs, the caltrop will be suffficiently depleted :)

AoE is also very useful for shooting down missiles.

Why not let dis3 have a good AoE but be weaker than it was against int hulls? It seems obvious to me, but I must be missing something.

On a side note about Aoe and missiles. Does EMP do any actually AoE/Damage to missiles? As in XRM defense?
