This is killing the enjoyment for me and many others, the stacking that is.
Yesterday I witnessed 8 games wherein the LEAST ELO difference between the 2 sides was 30 points. This is ridiculous and it has to stop - it's KILLING the game!
We have to get the AUTO system working correctly. Unless someone has a better idea?
Anyone?

As Andon says, the new ranking system in R5 (AllegSkill) should be more accurate than ELO and HELO and hopefully will improve things a lot. It'll then be up to players and commanders to use or not use the auto system.

Spidey: Can't think of a reason I'd need to know anything
Post-launch auto balance is something we're paying particular attention to getting right. The current system just doesn't work. Since PLAB needs to be implemented in AllSrv, as opposed to ASGS, the new version will probably be released after the rest of AllegSkill goes live.

Translation... The new ranking system can go live soon (without updating the client). A better autobalance will need a code change (and thus an updated client). The existing autobalance however will work better with the new ranking system, but not as good as it could with a code change.
