Yeah, beta is the most buzzwordy term in the AllegSkill portion of the wiki. The name suggests it means "you have a measured skill, but you will actually perform a bit better or a bit worse".

When i first read it in Alleg wiki, i got so confused ,
didn't catch up with all of it.
But then i read it on Microsoft's research, i understood every bit of it.
I read it in this order:
The TrueSkill™ HomePage
Detailed Description of the TrueSkill™ Ranking Algorithm
The TrueSkill™ Frequently Asked Questions
Then comes The TrueSkill™ Ranking System Calculator
Then comes The TrueSkill™ Ranking System Calculator Help
No offense, i understood everything of it from MS , so i was thinking (Actually recommending) if we did Quote some of it in our wiki, coz it is was explained better than some of you guys.

No offence, Amsun, but MS's Trueskill site is linked in the very first paragraph of the AllegSkill wiki. What MS's site doesn't contain is the vaguest hint of how the ranking algorithms actually work. If I were to ask you to calculate new ranks for a 10 vs 10, how would you achieve this using MS's site? The wiki content licence/copywrong wotsit explicity forbids plagarism of other sites and copywronged materials:amsunaakage wrote:QUOTE (amsunaakage @ Nov 29 2008, 12:11 PM) No offense, i understood everything of it from MS , so i was thinking (Actually recommending) if we did Quote some of it in our wiki, coz it is was explained better than some of you guys.![]()

Edit: And imagine the @#(!-storm that would have ensued had we released AS without a detailed explanation of its inner workings. The haters would seize the opportunity to try us as minions of the dark arts. If the genuinely interested can't be arsed to follow the very first link provided on the AS wiki, that's their silly fault. At no point did I agree to spoon-feed anyone.

I thought in case of 10 vs 10 i could work out my way through 8 vs 8
Or
We could build up our own AS Calculator instead

Yes. The calculator supports a maximum of 4 vs 4, and assumes tha all players played the whole game.amsunaakage wrote:QUOTE (amsunaakage @ Nov 29 2008, 03:28 PM) I think I'm missing something here
