Hey guys, I was reading the ZG Datanets and I began to wonder again, did someone keep a good record of all the different things that happened, with the game and the community? Is it possible to apply that to the storyline universe and maybe have a novel or two, or start a strong body of fiction and other lit to flesh out the universe? I am seeing a source of funds here ppl! An outlet for creativity as well.

My business hat has been on pretty well lately.

The Zone Games team is working on a bunch of stuff, just hold tight.

As far as writing an actual book or long-form story... don't really expect that from the ZG team. Individuals though, that's another story.

No, BV, that entire archive is extremely useful. We're going to be going through it with a fine-toothed comb and updating/creating everything that is not there.

Actually one evening recently I started writing a timeline of squads forming/disbanding/reforming and such, any alterations/corrections/additions welcome

Data was mainly collected from squad pages on the wiki and the excellent pages on the academy that BV referenced. I was planning to find a home on the wiki for it then and to generally update the wiki from 2006 onwards, as it is pretty sucky atm. Anyone know all the dates of Z reforming and disbanding for example? I think they had three incarnations.

1999 - SF formed
November 1999 - Black Shadow formed

Q1 2000 - German Borg formed

Early 2001? - PK formed
April 2001 - Piranhas (FZ German squad) merged with GB
June 2001 - SRM disbands
Late 2001...? - SF disbands

Mid-2002? - SysX reformed

2003 - X-19 formed
late 2003 - The Collective (TC) reformed
late 2003 - TC and X-19 merge into TCX-19
late 2003/early 2004 - XT reformed

early 2004 - TCX-19 disband - KFH formed from many of its members
2004 - SRM re-forms
April 2004 - Shifters (@S) reform
3rd May 2004 - RT formed, mostly newbies & a few vets

March 2005 - LWMS and SysX merge, KFH disband, @Z reformed (for the 2nd time?)
10th October 2005 - Wildcards (ACE) formed, primarily from old XT/SysX pilots
Feb? 2006 - SF re-formed

(2 quiet years for squads afaik?)

10th Feb 2008 - The Roman Legon (SPQR) formed
