Squads

Is it just me or do the top 2 or 3 squads take pretty much the strongest from other squads or cadet consistently? Won't this eventually mean we end up with something like the U.S. Telcom system where I can only use @#(!ty comcast for my internet?

I know for squads that are in the middle of the pack and very close to moving up losing even a few key players to @XT/@ACE/@PK can make all the difference to them.

Now I have no idea why people choose to leave their squads but this seems like a brain drain situation to me.

So what do you think? Am I crazy or does this make some sort of sense.

In my case I moved from RT to ACE for the Depends

ACE seems to be able to absorb my stinkiness and Gandalf has blossomed since my leaving /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":lol:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

In all truthfulness Spidey in my case I got a number of nice offers or feelers to join but it was MrK, Clay, and FreeBeer who I was intially attracted to being squaded up [ Baker coming in too was the icing on the cake ] as in the peeps who'd Id be chatting with more then the winning for me.

edit: for the responses. Getting first dibs on cadets isnt going to change a thing with regard to winning squad games since well they are cadets and not vets. Also making someone join a squad is a nonstarter since I would NOT do it, as would most. Hell Im not sure if ANY of the three squads that Spidey called out even really recruit cadets. Im not sure we've done it since Ive been in ACE. Your best bet is to continue to recruit peeps with at least a year's experience my Sporks.

Player's interests change, their perspective changes, and sometimes a squad just moves in a direction the player does not support.

Some of us are just looking for a place to fit in in this community. Some of us never find it.

And of course some of us are hated, hunted, scorned, harassed, accused of allegations that have never been proven, disrespected, and my personal favourite, perceived to no longer be a threat /wub.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":iluv:" border="0" alt="wub.gif" />.

And there are those that just die laughing at how worked up people get over such a "useless voob."

Anyway Spiderbite, I think I've unintentionally derailed your thread and opened the floodgates for a nice round of Drizzo-Bashing from various PK and XT members. Or maybe now that I've said that no-one will post. *shrug* Who knows, I'm not a psychic.

@Spidey. Yeah, it has always been like that, sucks for the most part. One of the major reasons I declared SRM hopeless was because we couldn't keep our good players, they all just move up the chain. I can't blame them though, nothing can (or will) stop it. Getting the better squads to stop is pretty difficult since turning down a player means the applicant will only go to one of the other big squads. Given time though, the squads will even out. XT was dominant for the longest time, now PK and ACE are considered pretty damn close to XT. SysX isnt far off either, I could totally see 4 squads at the top in the next 6 months.

I wrote this post over the past hour since I forgot about the open tab... sry if it doesn't make any sense.

Don't forget too that some squads like to fly SGs alot (or SG's only) and like squads that have a regular high turnout. I'm sure some of our SG only pilots would be unhappy being only able to play once in a long while if in another squad.

Having a low drama quotient helps too I'm sure.

Don't forget that Squads also have certain characteristic traits that attract certain people. ACE's trait is taht we're all old, boring, and can only wake up enough to show up on sunday afternoons before going back to their drooling and mumbling.
