ok... so you installed .Net 1.1 and the SP1. Did you also install the hotfix? (That becomes available once you install 1.1 SP1 and go through Windows Update). Make sure you reboot.

Make sure you have the latest installer from the downloads section (it was updated in the last couple of weeks).
After you start ASGS go to Help and then Repair/Update critical files.

For now, make sure you install Allegiance on the C: drive. This is a known limitation that hopefully will be resolved in the near future.

You mean the ASGS download? ASGS Client and Updater

Only have one drive at the moment, but nice to know when I place the other harddrive back into the machine.

Thanks.

OK!

I'm ready for the next round of advice. I updated xp and net.framwork 1.1 updated the hotfix. I still get authentication failure. What next?

Can you post a screenshot of the error message with ASGS in it as well?

How do u upload an image? Not sure how it helps. It only shows a dialog box stating ASGS Authentication Failure
Please Restart The Game Using ASGS

My guess is that you launch allegiance.exe directly without using ASGS or you have a proxy enabled.

Are u saying thats what u think the ASGS client is doing or I should try to launch Allegiance directly and then what? basicisp is a direct ISP no proxy as far as I can tell. If they did wouldn't it say so in the account link im using?

You need to launch ASGS and hit login, then Allegiance should launch. If you do not use ASGS, you will get this error message.
