Cons popping out of wrong bases

There was this awesome 12v12 game last Saturday, we were IC. It's a bit hazy now but I think what I'm saying here is what happened - if I'm wrong then do flame away.

Our garrison got captured - and then we managed to capture it back. However new cons we then built - came out of an outpost two sectors away! I guess this was our next-oldest base (I joined 20 minutes in so can't be sure). They had built in the sector between those - so if it wasn't for the fact we still had a home tp - this could've been a game-breaker. As it was, we went on to win anyway (best pickup team I've played on in a long, long time)

This doesn't make sense to me. Surely cons should come out of the garrison, if you have one? Isn't that the main point of garrisons - to let you build other bases? Failing that - shouldn't they come out of a tech base?

AFAIK
They should come out of the garrison but they don't. Its always the teams oldest base, when you lose a base from being capped the next oldest base is put on instead and the queue gets popped. The fact that the base was originally yours is a null point.

What would be cool (R5 mabye) is that if you buy multiple garrisons you can specify which ones your cons launch from. Forward garr!!!!.

a) I should probably have put the "wrong" in quotes,
b) Should've gone into FAZ development.

Wouldn't it make sense to make sure the con popped out of your garrison, if you had one?
