I saw a overwhelming request for VCs that arn't stupid and that you could actually use like: Ramming speed!, and Aleph is camped!.

So this is what I'll need from you amazing allegians. Some VCs that you would like in this VCpack that can actually be USED ingame. No offense, but please don't bother with stupid posts that say "Oh this is a good idea", I want to keep replies that include good VCs that you would like to see added.

I'm sure many of you have said this would be a good idea and have talked about doing this, but Baxters reply to my Transformers thread really got me interested in doing it. Thank him.

The Team:
Icemansab (Wav Maker)
JGBaxter (Wav Maker)
Kap (Quickchat.mdl and sounddef.mdl editor)
Mesial (File hosting and install maker)
Tigereye (Town crier) haha.

Nice Idea /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Good voicechats I would like to see would be

Defend <insert Techbase Name Here>!!!

also don't know if you know how to (or if its possible to differentiate between the bases) but by saying that it gives the command to defend the closest Techbase of that type (like when using the normal defend base VC).

There are some custom vcs that aren't that useless like: "Check it out corporal, we'll cover you" , "Red/Grey/Green leader standing by" "This sector is clean". There are others, the stormtrooper I think has the most not-that-useless vcs.

Also, perhaps some of this:
"Go low sig"
"Unmount Shields/missiles"
"Fire"
"Whats your signature"
"Eyed?"
"Need/escort StealthBombers"

The ones I'm missing the most:

'Are you eyed?'
'Push me! / Ram me!'
'Need galvers!'
'Call drop'
'Drop now!'

Note: this will only work if those new VC's will be integrated into install and put on auto update IMO.

First of all, make sure you understand this takes a good amount of work to complete, at least to do well. Making original VC packs that are gameplay related is a lot more complicated than making some fun VC pack from a movie, etc. I would request that if you are serious about going through with this, that you coordinate with me in order for this to have any chance at being an official update and not just fade quickly into oblivion. Juckto already made a voicechat pack that actually matters after a lot of hard work and nothing ever came of it, mostly because of certain issues w/ Allegiance and autoupdate.

I may work on coding support for adding official chat packs to R5. It is something I have planned, but lower on priority than the F1 menu and training missions. It would make having add on packs much easier.

Later on I will submit a list of VC's I think would help out greatly. Preferably, IMO, we should try to have one big gameplay related chat back update and make it the final official VC update unless there is a time where Allegiance changes drastically enough to need different chat packs for new game modes.

You've seen the thread, now you can coordinate, congratz. /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

The idea is to make a new default pack, one that is "final until whenever" (whenever being years since it takes forever to get people together to work on a project like this). We'll find every vc that's needed, and flesh it all out. Squeeze in as much as possible without making it overblown. No point adding 1000 taunts when 999 will do. hehe /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

And some VC from movies certainly work;

"Need gunships on station asap!", I mean, how perfect is that.

Comms need their own submenu; "You fail me yet again" is perfect to lower Ozzy's blood pressure, and mine too.

"Need nanites on the Constuctor" is an underused but still valuable one, yet I can imagine "Need Nanites on miners, NOW!" would be even more valuable.

QUOTE Juckto already made a voicechat pack that actually matters after a lot of hard work and nothing ever came of it, mostly because of certain issues w/ Allegiance and autoupdate.[/quote]
Thread 1 - "Chatpack update - is it on the to-do list?"
Thread 2 - "Need voice artists for new VC"
Thread 3 - "New VC available, download here"

Those 3 threads span 5 months, and in the end, as AEM said, practically no one used them. I still have the 18 VC that got created and the related code (which will be broken now, as with every other chatpack did in R4) bowling around somewhere if you want them.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.
