Well since I havent found any threads il post a quick version of my events in the ZG:

Super game, goes down as one of my favourites.

My take on the game.....

Bios literally tore the map apart, taking out Giga then Belters, then they came after us. We were down to about 12% holding at one stage iirc. Bios had about 7 or 8 bases Vs our 2. We got it back to 3 then repeatedly tried to own them, but alas with some excellent co-ordination and leadership, they pushed us back again.

We somehow managed to hold on to our tech bases, with a major shout out to to Jagnara & Co for some awesome defense. We managed to get the playing field level about 2hrs 30mins into the game with some great bombing by Sora and Quacky iirc.

After that is was all up to us, and after repeated bombing attempts we got them down to a one sector standoff. It was battleships ahoy with everyone on either side fighting it out in BC, DS, BC...After a great tactical manouver and some serious TP2 scoutage we dropped into there base well out of range of there CS but well within range of there SY. I came in with a bomber and XRM2 slightly later on the same drop and proceeded to their Garr as the BS were blowing the SY, got it down to hull only before there BS were within range. "gg" was being plastered over all chat and I had a great feeling of satisfaction firing the XRMs at the Garrison.

Unfortunatly for me I didnt notice a BS coming up behind me with mass driver loaded, as Im frantically trying to fire my missiles he fires, taking me to hull in one hit, i try to strafe and fire. I get podded with the Garrison down to half hull.

The game continues with efforts on both sides for about another 20 mintutes, when eventually after Aarm & Co's massive defense against Ozzy's barrage of remaining BS and such leaves Bios with only Garr tech to D with. We decide on one massive final push on there Garrison.

Bios tries to defend with all thats available to them; GS, BBRs, figs, anything they can musta. Unfortunatly for them and fortunatly for us, it is not enough.

The Garrison pops, game over...

Thankyou to everyone who made such awesomeness possible and thanks to my team for hanging in there and really pulling together when we needed it.

Well, Sora was driving, I was just along for the ride /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Or are you talking about the tp2 drop where I blew the exp by a hair? Or the one where I nanned a bbr? So many events! Often I was out probing and a drop would come and I would just rip in and try to nan something.

There's too much conentration on the last 20 minutes in your report. Stuff that happened earlier included us losing our opening outpost, and then working like mad to get the sector that we wanted to put the op in back under our control - as we wanted to put our sup there. Finally managed it with some slightly dubious bombing from myself that was just about good enough thanks to something like 8 nans.

Bios and belters were in an allaince for a while, then belters killed a bios miner, so Ozzy went nuts on them and stomped all over them in his big battleship.... and then went onto giga, who put up a slightly better fight, even managing to kill bios's sup. This left one C rock on the map, which was next to giga's home, but due to how awesome bios were and how many cap ships they had, they escorted it across the whole map without much issues. Whilst all this was going on, dreg mostly sat in their 5 or 6 sectors with 6 He mines, and trying to help giga out, though some people on giga didn't understand and shot the dreg down /doh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="doh.gif" /> We had fully upgraded garrison, supremacy (we lost one but built another some 4 sectors from our home), and eventually I think our shipyard got fully upgraded too. We had an exp but that got tp2'ed.

Anyhow, eventually giga died and dregs cash machine came into action, and it was an hour of cap ships, tp2s, uneyed bases and general confusion from there on out. I once had 5 tp2s in my scout at the same time, that's how rich we were. Also, there were a few times when a team didn't have a shipyard but still had capital ships, so they couldn't dock them. Once we killed bios' last tac, leavng them with just a garrison and 2 shipyards, I think we knew we had it won, and finally we did. GG all!

I sure hope the tag generator thing works next time. If not, I think Ozzy will have learnt to just hit randomize straight away /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" /> Thanks Ozzinator for your all your hard work on this.

Yeah, the opening seems so hazy now /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> I was just a little late on the opening con to save it. I was doing pickups, and I heard over ts that the OP was fine and we were buying bombers. Then I saw that the con was still rammed, and I ran to get to it and fed it a couple donuts but it was too late.

Then I was trying to scout and probe, but I got on a couple bomber runs.

It was confusing not knowing who we were allied with.

Who commed what - especially giga. Was it a FFA?
I'm sorry I don't remember any of it. For you the day spideycw graced your squad with utter destruction was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Sunday

Teams / Commanders:

Yellow/BIOS - Ozzy
Blue/Belts - MadAccountant
Purple/Giga - UKDude
Green/Dreg - Me

After a game of musical commanders for purple, UKDude finally stepped up and took it. The teams were incredibly skewed toward us, and Giga was down by 8-10 people. So Ozzy decided to autobalance everyone regardless of their tag.

Map was the 4-team version of StarCross and each team started with a home spec mine.

I believe Ozzy originally wanted this to be a FFA. But I received a PM from Mad about 15 minutes into the game letting me know that Giga and BIOS were allied (which I found out later was false) and he suggested that we ally. I agreed.

With the spec mine raking in loads of cash, Ozzy must have bought a SY very early. Because before we knew it, he had battleships cruising the map and there was very little anyone could do about it. While belts had a SY, they only had corvettes - which are laughable when compared to a fully-loaded battleship.

I'll openly admit it; I basically used Belts for bait while I saved up enough cash to get our SY up. We were very much behind in the shipyard department. Hell, we didn't even have one until 45-60 minutes into the game.

Thankfully we were able to use our uber Supremacy tech to fend them off (at least for a while) until the shipyard built.

I built ~4 helium mines fairly early in the game. And they paid for themselves several times over.

After we got battleships up (about 90 minutes after launch) we were able to compete on a fairly even keel. And it was basically cap wars from that point on.
