my new Faction :)

i am planning on creating a new faction, i dont know what there gonna be called yet.
this faction does not build their own ships, they steal them, they are parasites and they make green plant-like material appear on the hull which collects space radiation and transfers it to the engine.
they make slaves of the ships crew.
i have modelled a carrier, to show the idea, more will come soon.

well texturing is the most difficult job. i use 3DStudio Max to make my models, and i unwrap them with Unfold 3D. to create the textures, i use Photoshop CS2 combined with a wacom tablet, which makes my work much more precise. i start by adding the base color (in this case, yellow-grayish) then with a brush which is set to multiply airbrush, i go over it to make things lighter and darker. Example: i make the exhaust of the engine rather dark. then i add some textures with a texture brush with the same settings, in this case i made the greenish substance (which is actually a red blood cells texture), and some chips, the darker black ones in the pic, to get a more technical look.

could probably use some of your creations too. however, my milkshape is acting wierd and wont save anything in MDL format. need to work on bases too.
i still have a cool bomber on my PC, but it still needs texturing.

ye i still have to put the green doors etc on it, there are holes in the wings but you cant see them well. also when you see this from the back, its definatly not an int.

think you could select with window polygons and use the bevel tool to recess them in a little?
