I'm happy to announce that my Voice Chat Voice Recognition System has reached 1.0 and is
ready for you to beta test. You can find the download on TigerEye's server (Thanks TE!).
[DOWNLOAD]
This is a small application that lets you say the voice chats into a microphone, and then relays
the appropriate voice chat to allegiance. So, now instead of wadeing through the 320 voice chats in the
menus, you can just say the voice chat and it will be played for you. I made it because I could never
find the damn "Who wants to be commander" chat. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
You can also give it voice commands like: "channel all" or "channel team" (only works when not on a ship right now),
and it will change your chat channel for you. You can also modify the voice chats data file to send any
keyboard commands you like to allegiance, so please experiment. I only tested this application with allegiance
and notepad, but you should be able to use it with any game or application if you like.
I am really looking forward to seeing how you all get on with it, and if you find it useful.
My tests with a cheap-o clip on microphone and a Logitech E350 USB headset both yielded excellent results. /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
You'll need some kind of microphone to use it, and if you don't have microsoft office installed, you may
have to download the Microsoft Speech SDK and install it on your computer. I have detailed
instructions in program to help you out, but if you have questions please PM me.
-- Known bugs:
+ long voice chats register as "recognition errors" while you are still speaking, but recognition succeeds
when you are done speaking. This also causes the UI to bounce around like it's lost, but the application will relay the right chat.
+ using the channel voice commands while in a ship changes the channel to the wrong channel.
+ "Need Objective" and "Need a Pickup" are too close for the speech engine to figure out, so I
dropped "Need Objective". You don't need to be told what to do, but you DO need a pickup.
Thanks again for you time, and enjoy!
