I was doing a 1v1 DM earlier tonight, and both me and the other pilot took a time out to set up our target nothing buttons. However, we found that whenever we tried using it, we would just automatically target each other again, same as when you're targetting nothing and entering a sector. (and as a result fails to Target 'nothing')
Dumbfire users everywhere are just begging for a solution, I know it.
Target Nothing Mapping
This bug is so old it's actually become a feature. Everyone uses "X", the Target Nothing button, to target closest enemy.
When there are no enemy units in your sector, using X truly does clear your targetter. But the moment an enemy unit is sighted in your sector, the targetter will be filled with them.
This is uber-useful at aleph camps, although it sucks when there's an enemy scout 8k away because you're unable to clear your targetter - it keeps targetting him!

You might want to have a look on Academy mapping linkyGreator_SST wrote:QUOTE (Greator_SST @ Dec 16 2006, 12:24 PM) ...can anyone tell me what the 'target next hostile' is. I screwed up my mapping and can't seem to get it right. What does 'T' do?

I thought that missles will only do damage to a targeted ship. If you target nothing and your dumbfire hits a ship it does no damage? I'm probably wrong, but I thought I remembered reading that somewhere. But I do see your point Gapomatic. I think if we could do what you are suggesting it would be nice.Gappy wrote:QUOTE (Gappy @ Dec 15 2006, 06:39 PM) It also sucks if you're trying to use dumbfires without any tracking so that they fly straight, instead of idiotically turning.
