Anti-teleport probes

Ok just a totaly random idea, make and anti-tele probe,
so you drop it, and then like 500m around it, no one can rip in or rip out.
but you would need to make it really expensive or something, so people wouldnt use it too often.

well... i dunno what to say to that..
it would be helpful if people used more tp probes, which they usually don't unless they are desperate
Tps are easy to defend against if you probe and watch for scouts so the so called "anti tp probe" would be made obsolete /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":lol:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

it would be more effective on normal tele bases

but you effectivly give a scout the ability to takeout a base...

if it only blocked small rip, it would be intresting now where to stick them...

Giving the ability to do this would be fun, also if it could block small ships from riping in/out, large ships from riping in/out, or block small rip from resceving, and large rip from resceving.

small rip blocking for giga SF, no more IC miner getaway, no more instant reinforcement for TF miners, Ownage on cars. :eg:

the life time would need to be short of corse, but sup would own with these things, bring a scout to the galv run on a TP, you'd need to rip in early to be effictive. would make a nice counterpoint for TP probes, and a desent bonus for sup, I'd make it tier 4 tech though, meaning adv tecbase and a SY to research the thing.

What if you could drop it next to an aleph and shut down the aleph for the duration of the probe? Or more likely until someone took it out.

aleph blocking, nah, but it would be nice if you ambush someone, so they dont rip out right away.

my point exactly, you could only use it vs normal teles really, anythnig else can just walk away then rip (thinking of tele miner by rock), or if you just happend to fly round a rock and see someone drop a tp probe, and if your probes activation time is less than tp probe then your fne, if its the same, you have the time it takes to rip their bombers in to drop your anti-tp probe.

basically using it on anything other than a tele, is much like using tac nukes on anything that moves (excluding big capships). you have to be really lucky with the situation, or have someone practically set them selves up to be owned
