Could someone make a stickied thread in this forum w/ links to handy stuff so folks don't have to dig through 10+ pages of posts?

It'd be really handy to have a single place for people to find artwork stuff such as:

Completed Textures/packs

Links to the Artwork Repository and to the artwork modding tools

Tutorials like YP's environment tutorial and Orion's modelling tutorial

I stuck the 1024 textures on fazbeta as

http://fazdev.alleg.net/FAZ/HighResRocks1024.zip

The 2048 ones are still here

http://fazdev.alleg.net/FAZ/HighResRocks.zip

I suppose I could rename the old one HighResRocks2048.zip and then go back and change the links in the beta forum...

I think YP was correct in that they should all be made at 2048, but I think having the smaller version for download is GREAT. Those with top end graphics cards can get the 2048, and those without don't have to burn the disk space, bandwidth, or cpu cycles to down sample it.

We are talking about 2 MB files instead of 8 MB files. If it were 2 KB versus 8 KB I wouldn't care.

Yeah, and remember, we still have a lot of textures to add, and it will eventually tax a lot of those systems that can currently run the rocks just fine. The other advantage of the differenct sized downloads is that once everything is done people can customize what textures they use to get the best results. Even though most systems won't be able to handle full res everything, they might prefer the to have the best stations, for example, and only do medium res for everything else.

i have re-structured the index

it now is an index with the content in separate posts below it. this allows me to put links in the index to link to the relevant sections.

i removed my sig in the subsequent posts to make them take up less space, i don't consider them as separate posts, its really just one big post, that has been broken up into different sections to allow for links from the index. (the annoying edit thing did make them a little bigger, but hopefully that shouldn't matter when more things get added to each section)

i found using the url tag made it open a new window, so i used the post tag so it opens in the same window but at the correct location

i think it makes it look much neater and easier to find what you are looking for.

do you think i should add short descriptions to the index links, e.g.
QUOTE Mods and Development
Sprite mods - These change how weapon fire looks
Reticule mods - These change your targeting Reticule[/quote]
