I am trying to get my laptop setup so I can play. When I toggle mouse control to fly the ship, nothing happens. I switch from window mode to full screen and all is well then. Is it possible to make it so I can just play in window mode?

The other issue is key mappings. If I make changes to the keymappings on my laptop, it will carry over to the desktop right? Is it possible to have a different setup on each machine?

Thanks guys. /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

I may have answered the key mapping question....it is for each computer, not based on the account. I guess.

In laptops, the numpad doesn't exist (unless you own one of those huge-ass desktop replacement ones). So the Numpad-0 method doesn't work. Try using the menu to toggle virtual joystick instead. Sure, not the fastest workaround, but it's something.

I am not sure whether you can re-map the Numpad-0 though...

I have remapped the numpad-0 to another key. When it is at full screen it switches between mouse control just fine. in window mode though it doesn't.

afaik, you can't use mouse control in windowed mode. Ever.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

In windowed mode, does the Alleg window have focus? ie it's the active window? I'm guessing that your key map only works for the active window - a good thing, obviously - and when you try numpad-0 in windowed mode that window isn't the active window?

Yea, it is the active window. I think juckto is right. :-\

Juckto's right - Virtual Joystick does not work when Allegiance is in windowed mode.

:(
