Hello,

I'm installing Allegiance for the first (well third, now) time. Everything is fine until I use the ASGS Client. It prompts me to update my files, I click OK and it moves one.

Files download and install UNTIL I begin to download agc.dll. This file does not download fully. It always gets to about 320606 of 65530 and hangs.....

I've reinstalled twice, and scanned most of the forum posts on this thread....none of the fixes I've seen so far have helped.

Please help! I really want to get in the game!

Thanks!

I'm getting the same problem. ASGS Update seems to freeze up while Updating agc.dll

PS: I downloaded the Update Override files in the download section before running the game. I used to be able to play it regularly until a few months ago when ASGS got updated, I'm just now returning to the game after a long string of hellacious accidents. My leg is still in a splint as of this day.

Hmm.

Have you tried ASGS's 'Get Latest' menu?

I don't see this menu.

PS: I have ASGS Build 136.

I'm at a loss to explain the lock up.
I uninstalled, redownloaded everything, and installed again.
Same problem still. The ASGS Update locks up around 285874 on ags.dll.

Under the "Help" tab in ASGS, select "Update / Repair Critical Files"

Did that, same problem, freezes at 285874 on agc.dll.

Edit: corrected file name.

Same for me as well. I've used the "Update / Repair Critical Files" tool to no avail.

Every other file downloads properly except agc.dll.... I even found a .zip file from Pooky (?) in an old thread with a copy of the file, but it seems that may have been from an older build. ASGS says I have build 136...

Here are my specs, just in case.

XP SP2
2.5 Mhz PIV
1 Gb RAM
64 Mb ATI Mobile
DSL connection (ports are forwarded)

Thanks!

agc.dll is a larger file and actually is not needed for the clients (but is needed for the servers).
I have had asgs hang on downloading files before when it seems to work fine for others, it happens.
I am at work and don't have access to this file. See if you can get someone to zip it up and email it to you.
Stick it in your artwork directory, asgs will see it there and move on.

This assumes a few basics
-you know where your alleg is installed
-you know where your artwork directory is
-you know how to extract attachments from email
-you know how to unzip a file and move it

People here can help you with the above if needed. I'll check back by tomorrow, if you are still stick I'll stick the file up for direct download off the beta server.
