FAZ Dplay 8 Stuff

Well, I am behind a network firewall and cannot get through unassisted. I can get through with a VPN, but that doesnt matter for this test.

I cannot seem to DL the R2 exe file from the sticky though. It *MAY* be because of the spaces in the URL, but maybe not. I can DL the dplay8 exe with no problems.

My computer is always open for you guys to experiment with, just PM me or catch me on MSN/AIM.

I just tried to use the old R2 installer, just guessing if it is the same thing as the DL you posted. I copied the new exe file and ran alleg. It gave me the usual "Failed to connect to lobby" message, but it took less than a second to tell me. When I quit Alleg, it went to Crash Guard for some reason...

I wanted to test the DPlay 8 builds and I can't download the FAZ R2 Beta installer. It's a 637byte EXE. Corrupted file at server? If you could fix that link, I'll test it for you.

Hell yeah, thank you so much FAZ Dev team... I could see the (empty) lobby for the first time at college ever...

Anyone want to arrange some College "test" days once some servers are up?

lets get this thing rocking.

at first we just need to know that it does "connect" where the regular one won't.

That makes it worth it to fix the rest of it's problems. ( finish the code off )


We need to be able to esimate it's effectiveness vs the current public "live code".

So find peeps who can't get in and have them test it. Then report the verdict.


Sounds like you need a way to get the server IP and client code installed for to testers.

I will post a request in the FAZ forum for you.
