Wanted to report these for a while, only had time now.

(Applies also to FAZ2 beta)

* Start the mission.
* Piss off enemies so that they attack you (optional)
* Get into the aleph.

What's wrong

* You see sector Mars, but radar still reflect other sector
* Icons are without labels (you only see the image, no description)
* Enemies on the other sector can still harm you (only with optional)

Workaround

* Take sectors away /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

----------------------------------------------------

(Applies also to FAZ2 beta, and possibly also others mission)

* Start the mission
* Fire up the team view
* Choose an enemy
* Click Take me to
* Order it to attack an asteroid, a base or whatever

What's wrong

* It'll follow the order. I thought this was fixed in FAZ2
(though ENTER Enemy Support TAB order won't work)

Workaround

* Disable team view (it's useless anyway) /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

As far as I know the training missions are not editable as we don't know how they work. If they were editable I think we'd have a set improved training missions by now.

*just brainstorming*
- As we know the training missions are of VERY limited usability as not all controls are enabled.
Training Mission 6 is by far the best as it can at least serve to train basic flight controls. Though not being able to practice flying (or commanding) with F3 is a big disadvantage.
-Training Mission 7 would be a big asset as it would allow people to familiarize with "how to select" and "the tech trees" As well as flying around with different ships, playing with loadouts and so on.
-To get TM7 to work one needs to install Alleg Server. Sometimes this works, more often it does not. Resulting troubles led to "do not ask how to troubleshoot TM7"

Would it be possible to create a Training Mission 7 Server, where some AI dummy client is present (as permanent game owner) and just plays the role of "the sitting duck" while one can experiment with the other team?

-The Newbie server is not really a viable option as only (tagged) players would be allowed on the teams as well as it is difficult to find players for non-competetive experimentation on "non UTC-4/UTC-5" Primetimes.
(aside from this pure experimentation is still different from normal newbie games where the players still want to 'fight' the enemy)

When I first started on Alleg, I found them default training missions teadious at best. They throw information at you with very little practical. I admit I would of loved to have had a mission where you were able to actually get used to commanding, or get used to the basics. The way i learnt the basics of commanding was throwing myself into it in the newbie server. It helped alot. So i guess if it was possible to create some sort of AI drone to com against, it would be a good thing. But ultimatly the newbie server can do the same thing.

What we realy need are training missions that train you in the skills you need to play alegiance.
but with no way to edit the things we cant realy do that /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mad:" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />
So, I guess the thing to do after we get the networking code working would be figureing out the scripting in the training missions, so we can train people to scout, respond to orders, nanite, attack nanites, defend constructors, and use (ship of choice) correctly.
but that's just dreaming.
Mad? Oh yes, quite mad.

Vader shot the nans first.
