I can't imagine why it only happens sometimes, but as it stands right now, most of the time (but not every time) when I try to log in I get the following text in the ASGS log.

• Checking for system updates
• Checking for existing processes
• Saving Settings
• Saving MRU Callsigns
• Checking connectivity
• Using Port: HTTP
• Checking ASGS Client Version
• Client Version: 126
• Server Version: 126
• Securing Installation
• Unable to secure Allegiance installation.
• The request failed with HTTP status 503: Service Unavailable.

I haven't been able to find anything in the knowledge base or past threads here about this, but if I've missed something, just let me know.

Hm, yeah... that is a new one.

Service unavailable - I'm taking a shot in the dark here, but I think that means that ASGS can't figure out how to contact ASGS. I'm assuming that since you're on these forums, your internet connection is working fine.

but ASGS can't see the net. odd.

Check out the "Work Offline" setting in IE. I know that causes problems sometimes, but not usually this error message.
Also check out your proxy settings (if any)

Leger de main - light of hand, i.e. Sleight Of Hand, something else I go by. >.>

Work offline is off, and the proxy is configured right. Our proxy is notoriously picky, though--what does ASGS try to do?

And now to remember callsign and password. Both of them. It's been a while.

ASGS will use your Internet Explorer Proxy settings if you tell it to... check out the "Use IE Proxy" checkbox in ASGS's menu (or whatver it's called)

Good luck,

hm. I dunno...

If this problem is persistent, something is definitely wrong with some of your networking settings.
Go over them with a fine-toothed comb.

While I'm working on tracing exactly what ASGS is trying to do that only fails most of the time, is there a link of some kind where I can fill in a callsign and email and get my password resent? >.>
