I was just looking at the front page and got this idea. See every time I look at the front page I always see like 5-10 newbs, most of them 0's right.
Where do they all go? They are turned off by our harsh community right. Well what if we could "hide" the old community and put all the new people that sign up into a "newb lobby".
Ya know how you get to select which server you join on WoW or such. If we threw a little option in ASGS to DEFAULT to the peacefully noob lobby, call it what you want. Then I think we jump start a noob community. Of course if they looked around in ASGS or on the boards they would see/know about the other "old school" lobby and be able to switch and check it out.
Now y'all might be like "what about splittying the community and such"... well I think we lose 99% of our newbs because we are all ornery and crap. Lets give the rest of the world a lobby and Isolate ourselves.
If the new(B) lobby would retain 10% or 15% vs our current 1%. It would be amazing!

New(b) lobby.

I'm not Hamlet. I don't take part any more. My words have nothing to tell me anymore.

You want a noob lobby? /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
All we need is, that the server option "skill" work once again...

It wouldnt be the same 'feeling' for the noobs. I think we would retain tons of them if they were in the 'biodome'. We could of course let them out after the first month. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> I would like it to be a one way type of gate though. say anyone that has joined the game in the last 2 weeks or last week or so. This way they havent been corupted yet. Pook would put out a new asgs that would have everyone not a noob join the 'evil' lobby, and all noobs and new members would default to the 'public' lobby.

Of course, there is always the problem of what to do with the noobs when they lose their number (besides giving them an ASGS message informing them of their promotion to voobdom and how they should switch lobbies), as they'll have nobody to learn from on this noob lobby!
This could, however, be excellent natural selection, when a player from the noob lobby commands on the main lobby and suprises us all with an upset victory using crazy and exotic tactics (or whores the regular whores).

We could even make it really easy for them to start. Just have like 3 servers, depending on how large the newb playerbase gets we could add more of course.
call them:
Beginner
Intermediate
Advanced
/excl.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":excl:" border="0" alt="excl.gif" />
or
Flight school (deathmatch)
Command school (cap wars)
War (conquest)
/excl.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":excl:" border="0" alt="excl.gif" />
Ohh!! and they would all run pook core to make the learning curve as shallow as possible.

no way dude! we could use the lure of 4 (is it 4?) new factions as bait for them to finish their 100 hours of game play, or lose their number or what ever we want as the qualifing factor to unlock the 'evil' lobby.CronoDroid wrote:QUOTE (CronoDroid @ Jul 23 2006, 04:22 AM) Wouldn't running DN be better? Ahh, and such a nice buffer it was! It kept the real noobs and the carebears out of the wankers/sirous gamers way. Was great for everyone. Except those that couldnt hack $10/month. But we dont have to worry about that anymore. /wub.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":iluv:" border="0" alt="wub.gif" />CronoDroid wrote:QUOTE (CronoDroid @ Jul 23 2006, 04:35 AM) This is starting to sound an awful lot like the FZ compared with the AZ.
