You start off with a scout and a warlord [$100], and research is kinda on the slow side. You also have a listening post, which is like uber uber probe station. Heres pictures.

Um... yes.

Whoever made the models, they look great... just wish they could be a higher res. Maybe someday people can get overthemselvs and get this to DN. /glare.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":glare:" border="0" alt="glare.gif" />

I believe that the DN models will be much higher res, as well as different.

Has something changed? I thought DN wasnt getting Effix because of some personal issues.

Models higher res? Does that even mean anything?

Ice, for basic shots of the ships you're better off using MDL View (see downloads) as you'll get better pics, even if the rendering engine is different.

That's Orion's original artwork (with the exception of the outpost model, which is a slight modification of one of his original models).

Well, depends on how you define that. DN can't call it effix, and can't use the models (according to the deal the quarrelling boys made during lunch break). Other than that, yeah... DN can make a missile faction no problem.

I especially like the work he did with the mine layer.

Yes they look pretty and all, but they don't really fly that well. Combat tested, they're largely a missile based faction, any ship that doesn't have a missile for them, flops. Think of it as Medium - Long Range combat ONLY. Low signature ships such as Ints from another faction seem to get the one up on their ships mostly due to their poor scanrange (I creeped within 500m of a Heavy Warlord and got behind it before I ripped it to pieces in a hint). IMHO They're not too flashy if you get behind them and work their buttcheeks /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

I will admit the dreadnaught is nice with it's carrier abilities.

Yeah, that's a bug... it uses the utl11 model instead of the utl501 one.

Funny, that - no matter how much you test, something always slips through. Oh well... at least it's not something major /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

(p.s. note the dreadnaught's scan range)
