Comments (What you tried, description, etc): I am having some trouble with my ISP, they have started blocking port 80 inbound and crippled half my multiplayer gaming career. It is said they are doing it to block spam and viruses like Code Red which I can understand, but since Allegiance uses port 80 to access the 'Free Game' zone I am unable to join any Allegiance games. The list nor the MOTD never shows and I never recieve an error.
As I said, I think this is to do with my port 80 being(INBOUND) blocked, so I'm asking if there is any way I could reroute allegiance so that I do not need port 80? I tried DXport but that doesn't seem to be what I need, it only configures my PCs DirectX to use differant ports and not Allegiance itself.
Whatever happened to SOVroute, am I able to change which port allegiance uses with it?
DARN ISPs
Port 80 inbound is only needed if you run a webserver. If port 80 (http) outbound would be blocked, you should be unable to read this... /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />Jaws wrote:QUOTE (Jaws @ Jul 9 2006, 08:15 AM) they have started blocking port 80 inbound and crippled half my multiplayer gaming career.
Allegiance has no problems with port 80 inbound blocked. Check your software firewall settings.

The Escapist (Justin Emerson) @ Dec 21 2010, 02:33 PM:
The history of open-source Allegiance is paved with the bodies of dead code branches, forum flame wars, and personal vendettas. But a community remains because people still love the game.
I'm not so sure about that.pkk wrote:QUOTE (pkk @ Jul 9 2006, 07:36 AM) Port 80 inbound is only needed if you run a webserver. If port 80 (http) outbound would be blocked, you should be unable to read this... /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Port 80 is what is used for Allegiance to get the MOTD and the Games List or atleast that what was said in a previouse post in here by Tigereye when I went searching if others had this problem.
I have no software firewall at all, windows firewall is disabled. I don't have a NAT router or anything of that sort, nor do I have a software firewall like BlackICE or ZoneAlarm. This is my gaming PC and if anything is blocked it is because of my ISP, and these are the ports they say they block as well as the reasons for it.
Port | Transport | Protocol | Direction | Reason for Filtering
25 | TCP | SMTP | Both* | SMTP Relays
80 | TCP | HTTP | Inbound | Web servers, worms
135 | UDP | NetBios | Both | Net Send Spam/Pop-ups, Worms
136-139 | UDP, TCP | NetBios | Both | Worms, Network Neighborhood
445 | TCP | MS-DS/ NetBios | Both | Worms, Network Neighhood
1433 | TCP | MS-SQL | Inbound | Worms, Trojans
1434 | UDP | MS-SQL| Inbound | Worms, SQLslammer
1900 | UDP | MS-DS/ NetBios | Both | Worms, Network Neighborhood
Any ideas which is my culprit if not Port 80?

I apologize for the late reply and I also apologize to you pkk for disagreeing with you when you were right about the port 80 thing. I was only going by what I read on an earlier thread.
As for how I connect. I am directly connected to my Motorola SB4200 SurfBoard Cable Modem through a Cat 5 cable into an Ethernet PCI Card. All work perfectly fine. This problem is not so recent. It has been years since I played Allegiance because of College and I am just now home and able to return. When I reregistered here and downloaded the latest allegiance build from here via the play button. I started having the trouble with accessing 'Free Games' so I figured I'd look on here for anyone else who had similar trouble and while searching these forums I found an old post about Port 80 INBOUND needing to be open for Allegiance after a few weeks of trying to sort the problem. I returned here and the forums changed so I reregistered and posted my problem as you see here.
