Nope - There is no protagonist. A Song of Ice and Fire has had Twenty-Five third person narrators, all utilizing point-of-view narration.

Books four and five have split up the narration based on geographic incidence, no less.

This is not a story with a "main character." This is a story about many people, doing lots of things, with different opinions. You can choose to identify with someone and make them "your" main character.... but that does not mean the story revolves around them.

I agree with MW. The Wildcard books are very similar.

There's four books worth of spoilers in our heads Ryj. Enjoy the show, and don't ask questions like that from those of us who have read the books. You're getting more out of the series than us readers, and that's quite cool.
