Hello Darkpriest,
Since you're still around, I figured I would chime in
QUOTE Secondly.... to the newb who said i wasnt following the commanders orders..
I'm not sure if you are referring to Paradigm or ImmortalZ, but let me assure you that they have been playing this game for a very very long time. If they say you were out to lunch, then you were out to lunch. Instead of lashing out, I recommend reflecting on where you may have went wrong and striving to correct it.
QUOTE Fourthly... you want to know what my question was..... there was a chatbar at the top.. wher ethe chat scrolls.. I had repeatedly looked for a hotkey to switch it and i found it.. unfortunately after i retabulated my keys in accordance with the academy homepage i was unable to locat ethe key again... this is why i could not follow orders all the time as they were 100 lines up from you scrolling vets who write a bunch of crap that is not even game related... I was simply asking how i could extend the chat so i could read it.. instead of reading the scrolling of all the voice commands especially the READ THE CHAT command when you are trying to figure out how to scroll up on it or at least make it more than 3 lines so i can read it..
Scrolling the chat is pg up/down by default, and the remapping explained at the academy does not move their position. I have a few recommendations for you. Next time you start your game, I would spend a good 5 minutes in the control pane, finding/fixing those settings. If you wish to extend your window,
CortUI will let you add lines to the chat.
QUOTE On the Academy side... I do not believe i can enter the cadet program as I am a Novice 7... I would still like to participate.. but my job and my other responsibilities make it hard for me to find time to commit to sessions... Mondays and Tuesdays are best... But id be interested in being contacted by one of the Cadet trainers... My msn is
Darkpriest667@hotmail.com.. this is generally the best way to contact me..
@cadet has no rank restrictions and none were ever discussed. Much of the work is done on your own, so you don't need to worry about the schedule. You will need to contact BlackViper to get on the list, however. A new session is about to start, so this is your chance.
QUOTE I dont play during peak hours (5-8pm EST) I usually play in the dead of night when most gamers might not be from the US and thus there could be a language barrier.. but it seemed that some of them spoke perfectly fine english....
Honestly, games played in the dead of the night are typically crap. People get a little kooky as alcohol sets in. Stacks and dumb settings abound. If you can't play during US primetime, consider playing on the weekends.

You cannot write how you speak. For example, I stutter. If...I....w..w..wrote lllllike thhhhhhhhh.thhhhhhhhh.thhhhhhhhhhhhhh(splater)is, no one would pay attention to what I say (this is why voice-to-text software isn't "all that" for me). Now you claim to have aced grammar. Congratulations. You know that I'm a part time mathematics grad student, and I've aced every math class I've taken since 1993. Still, whenever I (as a teacher) add something wrong in math class, there are 5 teenagers who can spot my error in an instant. So please suffer the notion that your writing (on this forum) sucks. I'm confident that if your English teachers saw it, they would gather around you and take turns kicking you in the balls. Ellipses are not a grammatical utility knife. Please, for the love of god, stop using them as such. Come back to proper grammar and rediscover the joys of periods, commas and semicolons (YUM!).
Allow me to make an observation: In almost everything you've posted about this game (and grammar), you've been entirely wrong despite a having an immense amount of confidence about your correctness. Accordingly, perhaps you should consider the idea that you really don't understand this game (or this community) all that well. If you intend on sticking around, it well do you well to drop the pretense. In this community, the amount of derision heaped upon a clueless player is inversely related to how much of an excuse they have for their ignorance. As a newbie, you still have a decent excuse, but the gap is closing. Assert you own rightness in as confident and confrontational manner as you can, and you will quickly squander your reputation and the good will of this community (95% of whom are authentically nice).
