Dogbones wrote:QUOTE (Dogbones @ May 1 2008, 03:03 AM) I am NOT saying this is the source of your problem but have you confirmed that other memory reporting utilities are showing your full memory?
Right click "My Computer" then Properties or "Task Manager"?
Dog
Also, since I am experiencing the same problem with sgt_baker (latest drivers/directX, ATI cards -> x5c9b035fed62d487 crush) I might add that I cannot completely revert to my pre-Alpha state. Although I replaced the exe back to the original one (also tried "Update/Repair critical files") I still get the same visual glitches as with Alpha (no x5c9b035fed62d487 crush though, thank god). This is very strange. Does the Alpha add something to the registry or to an ini file I should delete to properly revert to my pre-Alpha state?

I think you just pointed to one reason right there, I always use Vsync, in every game I play, however, if the game is not programmed properly, certain things can be framerate dependent, such as mouseys becoming sluggish, but really it (in certain circumstances) it can affect far more than that, especially if your game runs in a single thread.
For the record, two people (at least) have reported the sluggish mouse, I noticed it too; it didn't bother me a whole lot though - should still be fixed.

Don't think so, you should just be able to tell ASGS to repair your files, or just swap back the old EXE. If ASGS doesn't want to repair, try renaming the current Allegiance.exe and running it again.

Running fine for 6 hours nonstop at 1280x1024
Specs: Radeon 1950Pro, 256MB
Athlon Dualcore, 2 Gigs RAM
Minor issues:
Task bar icon of ZoneAlarm keeps "shining through" from Desktop in full screen mode.
Prox mines have black squares around them.
Minimap issues like others have stated before.

Confirmed working for five minutes (haven't tried longer) on ATI Radeon Mobility 9600 (64MiB) using the settings given and 1024x768@85Hz.
Performance was better than or equal to the regular client.

Good to know, one of our worries is the new client won't work on a large number of old cards. So far it seems to be a problem on only a small number of cards (so far the listed Intel chipset).
Parcival,
No, the alpha is just a single executable, no other files, and it should be completely 'revertable'. Are you sure you removed the alpha?
What build does the in game <esc> menu display? 08.04.08 is the regular (i.e. non-alpha) build. 08.04.15 is the alpha build.

nVidia 8800 GT. Crashes on launch, no matter what settings are selected.
• Allegiance exited with code: x5c9b035fed62d487
Edit: got it to work, there was one setting I hadn't tweaked, it turns out.
Lots of graphical glitches, the worst is the HUD gauges getting artifacted around the screen when going from pilot to sector view and back.

Sorry for the delayed reply I was AFK for some time. Yes, I get 08.04.08 (and it doesn't ask me about the settings on launch as the 08.04.15 alpha does every time).

Ok. Two things I haven't seen mentioned just yet, so I'll toss them in while I play:
First up, in the ship selection screen, the Current config vs standard display is cut off on the right hand side. Not very important but still should be noted.
Second is, when I play at anything above 800x600, the in-station screens are shrunken down. I get full screen when I launch, but the screen goes tiny once inside a station/ship selection screen.
Otherwise, seems to run great. FPS runs at about 130 under load, and up into 160 if nothing is going on. Great!
Current Config:
Xp Pro Service pack 2
Xeon CPU 2.8 ghz x2
Geforce 7600gs 256mb Driver version 6.14.11.6921
Running at 1680x1050
Anti-alias x4
No texture pack
